Data Center Electrical Technician

A data center is a mission-critical facility operating 24/7/365. The role of a Data Center Electrician is to ensure absolute power continuity and zero downtime. The position combines preventive and corrective maintenance of high-voltage, low-voltage, and complex backup systems, alongside continuous monitoring of the facility’s power quality.

Location: Jerusalem and surrounding area
Job Type: Full-time, Sunday–Thursday, 08:00 – 17:00
Availability for overtime and on-call shifts is required as needed.
This position includes a company car.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operation and Maintenance of Critical Power Systems
  • Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Systems: Testing, calibrating, and maintaining industrial UPS systems and battery banks.
  • Emergency Generators: Conducting periodic load bank tests, fuel system checks, and monitoring Automatic Transfer Switches / Static Transfer Switches (ATS/STS) and synchronization systems.
  • Distribution and Transformers: Maintaining Main Switchboards (MSB), distribution boards, power transformers (dry/oil-filled), and busways.
  1. Monitoring, Control, and Risk Management
  • Thermal Monitoring (Thermographic Imaging): Conducting thermal scans of electrical panels and connections to detect hot spots before failure.
  • Control Systems (EPMS/BMS): Monitoring voltage fluctuations, harmonics, energy consumption, and power quality via building management systems.
  • Strict Safety and Quality Compliance: Adhering to strict safety procedures and quality standards during all operations.
  1. Contractor and Project Supervision
  • Closely supervising external subcontractors (generator, UPS, and HVAC vendors) during annual maintenance routines.
  • Participating in expansion projects for White Space (server rooms) and the deployment of new server racks.

Job Requirements:

  • Electrical License: Valid Certified Electrician / Chief Electrician license / Electrical Practical Engineer degree – Mandatory.
  • Professional Experience:
    • At least 3 years of experience as a maintenance electrician in mission-critical facilities (Data Centers, hospitals, semiconductor fabrication plants, or process industries) – Mandatory.
    • Proven hands-on experience in troubleshooting control and automation systems.
    • Ability to read complex electrical diagrams (single-line diagrams) and technical drawings.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and strong teamwork capabilities.
  • Personal Attributes: Highly motivated, proactive (“Rosh Gadol”), possesses a broad systemic view, and a high service consciousness.
